Functional Programming with CoffeeScript

Introduction to the theoretical basis of Functional Programming (FP) and writing programs with functions as the primary abstraction rather than objects. Douglas Crockford has called JavaScript "Lisp in C's Clothing" (1), as JavaScript has more in common with functional languages like Lisp or Scheme than with C or Java, whose syntax it shares. CoffeeScript's terse offside syntax and use of the -> to represent a function strips JavaScript of it's misleading syntax and exposes a beautiful language with obvious roots in math.
